Now, not all patterns can be made seamless this easy. Some repeats on fabric span many inches across the face of the fabric before the design repeats. In those instances you need help of special software like Photoseam. What Photoseam does is allow you to clone an area in real time against the original. It will change the pattern somewhat, but it will still look like a nice design. A lot of repeating patterns are based on Escher principles and tho they may repeat perfectly horizontally, they shift slightly on the vertical or vice versa, making them virtually impossible to line up without help.
