Both work well with Poser. (Need Propack for Lightwave.) Lightwave is a much, much more complete package than Vue, which is basically a very nice scene generation package. Lightwave runs the range of special effects, modeling (one of the best modelers available), with all the animation tools to do virtually anything you can imagine. But the manual runs about 1000 pages... LW can do anything that Vue can do, but not vice-versa. But it's alot more to digest.
