Messing around a little today with the Nodes. Finally figured out how to make nice looking chrome with P5. Poser has everything in it already needed to do this: 1.)In the material room. Select your material you want to be chrome 2.)Set the Diffuse color to black Set the Specular color to white 3.)From the Reflection color Node. Create the following: New Node-->Lighting-->Environment Map-->Sphere_Map 4.)From the Color channel Node of that new map. Attach the following texture: New Node-->2D textures-->Image_map-->browse to P5 Runtime-->Reflection Maps-->SilverRefl.pct-->select OK. 5.)Set the Highlight vale to 0.1 If you want to make it brighter or darker Don't adjust the colors. Adjust the Highlight vale. Use small increments in either direction.....It's very sensitive. ScottA

Thank you for sharing this ScottA. I am sure the settings will be used by many despite the lack of replies to your post. Regards STORM

No problem with the replies STORM, It's not really a reply type message. You look at it. And say hmm...ok..cool...I'll remember that if I need it sometime. I also wanted to get the word "Chrome" logged into the database here so people could search for it later if/when they needed to use it.

That's the problem with these wonderful tutorials "on the fly"...it's easy to fly right past them when you are trying to find them later on. :)

I posted a free chrome, copper, brass, and gold Material for P5 to freestuff some months ago. Basically the same technique.

It's so hard to keep up with everything. Sigh. Does anyone else have this problem....I see something posted, go "oh, that's nice," and promptly forget about it UNTIL I need it and then I think, "where did I see that?" So frustrating to have a brain with the storage area of a walnut. Thank you, volfin...I've downloaded your very useful materials. Thank you, ScottA...hope this isn't your last tutorial. :)

When you think about it, the scope of information that renderosity channels on a daily basis is staggering. Sometimes I feel I can't miss visiting every day or I'll never catch up!
