Can't see what's wrong without the pics. But Poser 5 can do very realistic water; you'll want to use reflection nodes or refraction nodes to do it, though. I posted a mini-tutorial on this forum a while back. Do a search for "water" and a few helpful threads will show up. Mine should show up exclusively if you search for "perfect water".
