Here's another point: Renderosity is located in the US. The admins are based in the US and tend to follow US customs. And, the customs in the US are: violence: okay, sure, as long as it's "fake" nudity: Bad, very bad. No-no. Don't show it. Naked people should be confined to those "adult" magazines and hidden from children lest they be scarred for life by seeing a naked person. Some examples:
- Video games: Soldier Of Fortune raised the bar for violence. Sure, people screamed about the blood and gore, but now, more games are just as bloody. By comparison, there has been NO mainstream video game with a comparable level of nudity.
- TV: shows like NYPD Blue show shoot-outs all the time (and sometimes people actually get shot). Yet, if they show the naked backside of a man or woman, the show is plastered with "Warning: this show contains nudity. Parental guidance suggested."
- Movies: PG-13 rated movies usually have a high level of violence (gun shoot-outs, explosive car-chases, and so on). But, again, put a comparable amount of nudity in the movie and it gets an R or NC-17 rating. However, set the nudity in a "comic" setting (Porky's, American Pie) and the movie can usually get an R rating.
