go into My Computer, right click on the main system drive (C: usually) click properties & it'll tell you what file system you have (Fat32/NTFS). Converting from Fat32 is not too much of a hassle if you follow the instructions to the letter, if you do it wrong tho you could lose everything (make backups first).
