John- I also dug out my CD again, mine has a Chair.obj dated 1/15/97 in "long file names", on closer inspection there are actually 6 chairs there, all stacked on top of each other, that is to say Max indicates what should be a single vertice is actually 6 (some were 5, most 6). I'm sure that is why Poser faceted it. On the other hand, the map was O.K. in UV Mapper, but I didn't try saving it. I wonder how Poser and UV Mapper handle things like this - when you map it does the mapping effect all 6 copies? I have no idea.
