I haven't bought anything yet. But on the idea of increasing sales I've got an idea... make a banner that people can put on their websites. The banner would have 3x by y dimensions. a cgi on renderosity's end would fill in the last 'x' to the right of the banner with a random item from the store that someone can go to by clicking on that part of the banner. Item's appearing in the banner could either be totally random or random with a higher chance for lower selling items. One thing that has to be considered though is buying habits. I buy on an as needed basis, I download freestuff on an "as I think it's cool' basis". As a result nearly everything I've bought I've used in some way or another. But I've got about 2-3gb of free downloads that I've yet to even unzip... I've forgotten what a lot of it was, and if the file wasn't well named it can sit there until I go through a mad 'unzip' frenzy. :) Anyway. I see a lot of stuff for sale that has very specific uses. Not things you could throw into 'your average scene'. I'm a lot less likely to buy that sort of stuff unless it's part of a huge collection of similar stuff (like the Zygote CD collections for Poser, and actually most of the stuff on those CD's is pretty generic). On the other hand something with lots of varied uses, like say Victoria; is a smart buy to me. If I only need something for one personal project I'll seriously hesitate if it's over $0. But if I can see hundreds of uses I might pay over $50 and not even sweat it.

Truth has no value without backing by unfounded belief.
