Nice Valandar. Thanks for the tests there. But it is a little biased I think though. Although I agree the default lights arent the best, your placements of said lights in that first shot isnt particularily favorable either. I can see by the shadows that no light is directly casting on the front-side (cam POV) of the dragon and therefore it way too shadowed. What did you use? I see one light on the right, towards the front... and another casting on his ass. is the third casting down? by the looks of some of the shadows, thats what im thinking. Well thats a pretty crappy three-point setup. To compare that one render to the other three shot that have, what looks to me, suficient lighting on the front of the dragon to ignite my cigarette is unfair really. But that first render will still look like crap no matter where you place those three poser defunked lights if you compare them. So im not sure what your saying there other than, the more lights you stick in the better. When I thought 'where' you put them was more important. Just my opinion. I'll check out some of those lighting setups and see what it is all about.
