super saturated colors, while they look fine on computer monitors, tend to bleed on ntsc monitors and tvs. if your video editor has an ntsc video-safe filter, use it. it will make sure your colors are legal. sometimes this is not enough. you may have to manually bring down your colors using levels, or other types of adjustment in your editor. a good rule general guage -- rgb values of over 215 will look oversaturated. reddish stuff may need to be brought down even more. regarding banding, try applying a smidgen of noise to your video. this can make the banding look a little better. as a final note, your computer monitor is capable of displaying millions of colors. your tv or monitor is not. hope that helps.
