I'm having exactly the same problems. Today Curious Labs said the zip version of the patch needs to be located in the Poser folder in order to install. My patch is sitting in my download file so now I have to copy it over to the Poser folder and then run the exe part of the patch. I'm hoping this will work. I've been at it a week now. Very frustrating. I don't think there are any instructions in the zip version. I don't see a read me file.
