Hi,
Are you using WinXP? If so it's apparently something to do with the built-in "messenger service". Try this ...
- Open Windows.
- Go to "My Computer"
- Go to "Control Panel"
- Go to "Performance & Maintenance"
- Go to "Administrative Tools"
- Go to "Services"
- Scroll down to "Messenger" and select it (highlight it by clicking once) Read the description that shows up on the left side of the screen. At the top left side of the little rectanglar window, select the "stop the service" link. The status of "Messenger Service" can be seen on the right as disabled.
- Close the window and exit to desktop. You do not need to restart.
It seems to work but you have to do it each time you restart, which is rather annoying, as Windows turns it back on by default.
Hope this helps!
Steve
