Grid, Here are a few things you can do to improve movements in a model. First, open the cr2 file in notepad and look in the body part you're modifying under 'channels'. For the parts you want to slide, change the value for all 3 trans dials (X, Y and Z) from 'hidden 1' to 'hidden 0'. Resave the file as a cr2. When you open it in poser, you will see the 3 trans dials. What you can do now is this. Say you only want the chamber to move up to a certain point and then stop. Find out which trans dial moves it, figure out the value you want, then double-click on the parameter dial, and in the box that opens, set minimum and maximum values. If it moves 0.100, then 0 (zero) would be the minimum and 0.100 would be the max. If it was -0.100, then that would be the minimum and 0 the max. (Minimum is always less than maximum). Once you figure it out, resave the gun to the library, open the cr2 in notepad again, and for that trans channel, set 'force limits 0' to force limits 4'. Save it and open the gun in poser. The chamber will now stop automatically at the value you've chosen. If you decide to change the value, you can do it in the dialog box and the 'forced limits' will still work. This allows you to move the chamber without it shooting off and disappearing inside the gun. For any dials you don't want to accidentally rotate, do the same thing. Set force limits to zero for those dials in the cr2, then in the dialog box, set BOTH minimum and maximum limits to 0 (zero). Now they won't rotate at all, unless you decide to change the limits later. mac
