The problem is, people who are having problems are being yelled at by a minority who have P5 working fine. People who are using P5 with no difficulty are being yelled at by a minority who are having problems.
I'm having problems with P5 and I've been told: my machine is obviously too old to handle it (my computer is less than 2 years old and I've stuck in memory upgrades, etc. since then), I don't know how to use Poser (I've had Poser since P2), I don't know how to take care of my machine (I'm in tech support, thank you very much), or I'm lying.
People like Valendar who aren't having many problems are being told that they either don't really use Poser (default NVIATWS, sans temple or sword) or they're lying.
Poser 5 is very picky. It works great for some, horrible for others. That's all there is to it. I agree with Valendar as to the probable cause - I think P5 was clumsily optimized and if you don't have exactly what it wants, you'll have problems with speed and stability. The problem is, no one is sure what P5 is looking for, even though we've gone around and around sharing system specs to find a commonality.
Insulting people who have a different experience with it than you do is ludicrous. It does nothing to help resolve problems. All it does is piss people off and make the insulter look like an idiot because they're making assumptions that often aren't accurate.
Please keep to the topic of how P5 works (or doesn't work) for you, and not on other people using the program.
Thanks!
