Eric, A regular template is just the mesh template, like you get it right from UVmapper. A seam guide has more information than that. For eaxmple, SnowSultan has helpfully color coded the little blocks so you know which mesh part mastches where exactly. He has also indicated other little areas of interest, such as location of buttocks, navel, etc, which make a texturemakers life easier.
