I realize that it's not perfect, but I like the results. I played with the dimensions a bit to get the look I wanted. When I made the legs in natural proportions, they overwhelmed the pincers and tail, so I downsized them. I also see a flaw now where the first small leg is leaving a gap with the body, but that only shows up in the shadow so to h*ll with it! :^) Here's a plain vanilla render.

This is not my "second childhood". I'm not finished with the first one yet.
