I have been trying to make a forest in bryce lately and I can never quite do it. does anybody know how I can make a really nice looking forest that is filled with lots of trees in bryce? also does anybody know where I could buy some really good terrain materials for bryce that would look good really up close without getting pasty and gloppy looking? thanks!

I used to have a link for the forest tutorial. I found it on the site of rbtwhiz but he is revamping it and doesn't have all the links up. Don't know about a good terrain material. They are kind of hit and miss unless you really disquise them.

if your forest is going to be far away, go into the terrain editor and hit new, increase your resolution to 510, clear the terrain out of it by hitting new, then click spikes a few times. Take it into the scene, enlarge it till it looks right and apply a foliage texture. Throw a few trees in close up, as well as a few cylinders with bark texture to fool the eye and disguise the terrain forest.

Talent is God's gift to you. Using it is your gift to God.
