THE PLACE FOR ALL THINGS BRYCE - GOT A PROBLEM? YOU'VE COME TO THE RIGHT PLACE

Subject: Any GOOD webhosting out there...?

Rochr ( ) posted Wed, 25 June 2003 at 3:47 PM · edited Sat, 23 November 2024 at 2:42 PM

Sorry for this non-Bryce question, but its a bit of a panic! Anyone know about a good (and fast) web hosting, with unlimited traffic??? The ones i have now, have been bitching about the traffic this last month (4000 the last 5 days...). The funny thing is, that they HAVE free traffic, but apparently, its just BS! So i will be needing one fast... Any help you can give, is very appreciated! :)

Paid or free? Even my host (paid) doesn't allow for 'unlimited' traffic, but the rates are resonable, for free, you're gonna run into traffic restrictions on just about all of them...check the link for info

I'll find out later from my partner which web host we have cause it's free and quite substancial, with little in the way of ads and it's in Europe, Germany I think. Catlin

Doesnt matter if it costs, as long as its a good one. Ive emailed one here, but havent got an answer yet. 150 MB space, and unlimited traffic, for only 10 swedish kronor/month. (about $1.50) Looks to good to be true... Dont know if its for scandinavia only, but heres the URL.

I would also like to know. All my freestuff got dumped. I wanted to rework it scaled for poser instead of 3ds. I'm seeing $19/month everywhere. I can set up a fixed IP and put my own server on it for $50 that could handle ten of the $19 accounts. I don't want to pay $19 knowing what I can get for $50, but I don't want to pay $50 either. $1.50 looks great and I don't need the 100 pop accounts. Only problem is I barely get 1 in 10 words of danish just enough from reading sunet and moon city. I'd hate to try to speak it. Or get tech support. Everyone I've ever met also speaks english. Think they could understand me if I caled them up Rochr?

Shouldnt be any problem. Most people i know, can speak english. But if you want something translated from Swedish, i can help you with that! :)

I have my web site at affordablehost and I am mainting another site hosted there. They have anything and anything you might need. Yearly rate is $72 minus 10% for payment at once or minus 20% for paying two years at once. It's 5GB traffic, 100MB space plus tons of other things. I'm very satisfied with it.

i used to be with http://www.bravepages.com but when they banned zips i then moved to http://www.web1000.com the package seem decent until i found out they blocked all none US traffic including me (british). i'd only used FREE hosts until now.... When i saw http://www.oneandone.co.uk advertised in a magazine and check out their packages seemed good and now i'm permantly moved in there. http://www.GeekAndProud.co.uk (10Gb transfer per day etc....) only 4.99 per month. Free hosts a terrible these days, ever since Yahoo started killing off Geocities in the the late 1990s free hosting has gone to pot. anyway the point of the post is that I'm offer to host your site until you find something more permanent. Email me if you want to take up the offer. your URL would be http://www.GeekAndProud.co.uk/hosted/whateveryouwant as i say its only temporary but loadsa space and bandwidth for free. all i want is a website link and a mention :] John

,,, the only way your going to get unlimited bandwidth is to get aDSL and host your site off your PC. John
