Subject: Standard Poser reflection maps

Hey guys. When you install Poser4 there are two .pct reflection maps that come with it. I'm trying to use those in a MAT file, but whenever I try to apply them to anything in Poser, they don't appear in the file dialogue box even when I have "Show all files" selected. They do appear in My Computer, however, when I'm just looking to see if the files are actually there, and when I right click on the folder in Poser and choose "properties" it says that there are two files in the folder. They aren't showing up though, when I load them through the MAT I get a message that they aren't there. Any suggestions? I've tried converting them to .jpg and they work that way, but the nature of the MAT files relies on the user already having the reflection maps as .pct. Thanks for any help you can give me.

AFAIK, .pct files are for macs. mac (no relation - lol)

What OS are you using. Perhaps you have no association for that file type so it is confusing Windows. I am on Win 2000 and they show in my show all files inside and outside of Poser.

Yeah, I had Windows 2000 on my last computer and it worked. Maybe the problem is that I switch to Windows XP? I'll try running Poser in 2000 mode for a bit.

That doesn't work. Poser only recognizes the .jpg's that I made and doesn't recognize the .pct's.

This may sound strange, but have you got Quicktime installed? I think that gets used somehow by Poser to display the .pct files.

There seems to be a bug in Poser to do with PCT reflection maps. See post linked above.

Hmmm...You know, I don't think I do. I'll check if that's the problem. Do you know why Poser doesn't give you the option to install Quicktime if it needs it to display files? Or maybe I just cancelled because I thought I had it...

Alright, well the Quicktime install fixed it. I guess I'll need to create my own reflection map then by the looks of that link you gave me. Thanks guys.
