A message of hope (I hope): I've been working with RayDream 3D -- the stripped down sibling of RayDream Studio -- for about nine months. It's a program with virtually no support, and yet I've been able to make some pretty cool pictures and animations with it. I've just ordered the orphan RayDream Studio 5.5. I decided to order it because the price was too good to pass on and because of the incredible things I've seen done with it here and elsewhere. The point I'm making is that even though there won't be a RayDream 6, and even though MC is no longer supporting RayDream, and third-party developers are drifting away, RayDream is still a powerful 3D modelling, animation and rendering package. So, too, is Carrara. Take comfort in the knowledge that you can be an artist with whatever tools you have, and the tools you have, oh Carrara users, are pretty kick-ass. - Chip
