Subject: network rendering

Which makes sense, since network rendering is only viable for animation frame rendering, not single image rendering. There is no such thing as single image network rendering, at least that I've seen using LightWave, Cinema, Maya, 3DSMax, and Vue, because it would require constant talking between "clients" of the network to keep information up-to-date. IOW, the clients would be interdependent, whereas clients doing individual animation frames can render independently. On the other hand, multiple-processors do actually aid in single image renders. My dual Xeon w/HT, renders using four threads in LW and Cinema which cuts the render times to a third of my nearly equivalent single processor wo/HT. Kuroyume

C makes it easy to shoot yourself in the foot. C++ makes it harder, but when you do, you blow your whole leg off.
