Hi everybody. Just to let you know that GQ Italy recently interviewed me about my books and I took the occasion to sneak in my passion for Renderosity. Ok, the article is in Italian... and there's also a video, .mov format, about 900K, for those who want to see how's my face in an over 40deg Milanese baking afternoon: [here's the link to the video](http://www.gqonline.it/mediafiles/massaron.mov). The link above is for the article itself. They linked R'osity homepage. Video ranking: "Hmmmm"... ok, I don't want to be mean, so "Needs improvements". ;-) S.

Ah! Just realized that, under "altre foto" on the right, they put some of my gallery images. Whoa!!! S.

RobertJ ( ) posted Wed, 02 July 2003 at 5:05 PM

Well at least this is a much more positive performance by an Italian than the Italian Prime Minister put up today. "The European press is in the hands of the communists", I beter become a member of the communist party then. And yes, Germans and humor are not a best match, but this was low what Berlusconi had to say about Schultz.

Doublecrash ( ) posted Wed, 02 July 2003 at 5:10 PM

Gosh, RobertJ, I wrote this message as soon as I got home )10 minutes ago), then as usual went to Reuters online to take in some news... and I've read this madness (or /s/adness?). It's really embarassing. Not only we have a stupid right-wing government without any dignity whatsoever, but we also have a stupid (I'm talking sheer IQ here, sigh) Prime Minister. He's an idiot. Alas, now all the world is realizing it... before, we were more or less the only ones to know. :((( S.

Doublecrash ( ) posted Wed, 02 July 2003 at 5:12 PM

We have tons of jokes and horrible quotes of gaffes much worse than this performed by our Clown Berlusconi... if you're interested, I can provide some really sad info about it :(

Way to go DC! Didn't see the link to Renderosity, but the pictures they chose were great. And as for scary, stupid, right wing leaders... we in the US do have G. Bush. Lin

RodsArt ( ) posted Wed, 02 July 2003 at 7:48 PM

Big congrats DC!! Way to go.

Thank you for saying that Lin. Before my husband left me I had to put up with him being clued to the TV during the war. And had to tolerate his idolization of bush. He just thinks he's the smartest man on earth. Lets just say my husband ain't too bright, he left me didn't he, ;p Ang

Ang25 ( ) posted Wed, 02 July 2003 at 7:59 PM

Sorry Stefano, I should have responded to your good fortune. Congrats on the spotlight! I can't read Italian :( and I'm on an old pc so I'll have to wait till next week at work to see the video :( But now we know your last name :) Keep up the good work! What type of books do you write and are any ever published in english? Angela

Ang, no problem... this latest (but not last, I fear) show of Berlusconi had all the right (pun, ooops) to divert the attention. I write fiction. Started a while ago with horror, then switched to sci-fi, now... now fiction :) I've got a couple of short stories published in France back in '99, but no, no English translations so far :( S.

Ang25 ( ) posted Wed, 02 July 2003 at 9:51 PM

I am definately a sci fi fan and fantasy too. Hopefully I will be able to read something of yours someday soon. Let me know if there is ever an english translation I'd love to read it. Angela

Congratulations. Stand tall and be proud!

danamo ( ) posted Wed, 02 July 2003 at 10:58 PM

Congratulations DoubleCrash ( okay if I call you Stefano occasionally?) I also love sci fi and fantasy. I wish I spoke and read Italian. Hopefully you'll get so big you'll be translated and read everywhere.

danamo ( ) posted Wed, 02 July 2003 at 11:09 PM

Alright Angela and Lin! Thanks for having the cajones to say what I was thinking! And Stefano too. Angela, I would say I am sorry about what you are going through, but it's his loss, not yours. Your husband is a member of both rep parties, Republican & Reptilian.

Congrats Stefano with this achivement. We hope that someday we all will be able to read one of your books! Any chance that you will tranlate the interview in English? Video link did not work for us :-(

If it'll help anyone, this is a translation website I've used. It seems to work well with Stefano's interview. @Stefano. I'm impressed! I too would love to read some of your work if it's ever translated into English. I'm a die-hard sci-fi fan. Susan

hyperborea ( ) posted Thu, 03 July 2003 at 8:38 AM

Thanks for the link Susan, it works like a dream!

Doublecrash ( ) posted Thu, 03 July 2003 at 8:59 AM

Thanx a lot for your encouragement! I really hope I will be translated in English one day, the anglophone market is the biggest worldwide... right now I'm finishing off the last draft of a new novel, it's sci-fi, cyberpunk in the style of William Gibson... I'd love to have it illustrated by you Brycers and I even talked about it with the publisher, but no way they will accept this (the costs of an illustrated book are way higher than a normal one, sigh). I hope it will be out for Xmas... I'll let you know, of course, and thanx again! :) Stefano P.S.: Danamo, I'm glad if you use my first name. When I became member here I thought it was only another "oh-yeah-downloads!" website, didn't have the slightest it was such a wonderful community, otherwise I would've chosen to go with my real name from the beginning :) P.P.S: Where's RobertJ? I really hope he doesn't have something with me because of the stupidity of my (sigh) Prime Minister... I even made a strong campaign against him before the last elections, I didn't fail not even once to use all my (limited) public face as a writer to bash him anytime I could... ;-)

Good to see you getting recognition Stefano, congratulations. I'm sorry to say that like most other natural born English speakers I'm not very good with other languages, but if you do ever get published in English I love to read your books. Cheers Catlin 8)

catlin_mc ( ) posted Fri, 04 July 2003 at 4:17 AM

I got it translated but I'm sure you could have done a better job Stefano. There was a word that kept coming up that was translated to splatter, totally out of context so I have no idea what it should really be. I did get that you write for children and that you started reading Stephen King at age 11, isn't that a bit young? I think if I'd started reading him at that age I would have been totally terrified. Anyway, power to you and I hope your career goes from strength to strength. Catlin

Doublecrash ( ) posted Fri, 04 July 2003 at 6:17 AM

Thanx for taking the time, catlin! :) Actually, "splatter" is the word that reviewers use in Italy to define a kind of "strong" horror fiction. IMO, they used improperly to define my early works, but it's ok... I swear I didn't wrote anything that SK wouldn't have written (not so good, alas, LOL). I moved into different genres since then, but somewhat the label stuck... sort of adhesive, I think :) I was terrified in reading SK at 12, but mostly because he wasn't published yet in Italy and I had to learn English from scratch :) I had an uncle living in the US, so he helped me a lot with the language and sending me the original editions of the novels. The first one I managed to read completely was "Christine", what a thrill! When I finished it, I was happy like it was my birthday! :) S.

That's exactly what I thought pidjy, and I think that is also evident in your 3d images Stefano. 8) Catlin
