heya; i wanna see a plant-construction mini-app, so you can define the type of plant. ie: crossed planes (like grass), grouped semi-cylinders (like ferns), stem and leaf (like tropical plant), tree, etc. flip some sliders to define some parameter limits, tell it what materials to use where, and badda-boom badda-bing; you created a 'vue vegetation' that will work with the random growth engine. i dont ask for much, do i? ;) i took a rose vob i had and scattered it into a bush, to make a real quickie rosebush. not as cool as anything guitta can make, though! :)
_Weeping willow, definitely. The model is nice, but I'd like to see a SolidGrowth version! _Conifers! Larch, cedar, spruce -- any new pine/evergreen! _Birch! Can currently "make do", but a native would be wonderful! :) Varian -- Treasures d'Esprit http://www.varian.net/dreamview/dreamtools/vue/index.html
Yes! The Renderosity logo is what I get, too! Makes the new store area completely worthless, but at least I can view the Fun Stuff images...since they are linked to other websites. P.S. back on topic: I second Bloodsong's vote above! Maybe not "build a PlantStudio into Vue," but some options to set trunk width (small, medium, large) or height, keeping everything proportional (rather than stretching it all out of shape) would be nice. Or perhaps a setting for more or fewer branches...anything to help add a greater variety. Having said that, I must also add that the SolidGrowth tech does add a lot of variety to things, so when you buy a $10 tree, you're really getting a multitude of trees, not just a single, repetitious model. Still, some of the species (like Plum) could stand to have a wider variance in the growth. :) Varian
Hey Varian, sound like you are suggesting Morph Target for the trees...that's great...LOL! How nice it would be if I can just select the tree object, place a point or select an area anywhere of the plant or tree and have a growth editor to edit what I want. An editor that allow you to add branches, various type of leaf shape, and texture mapping.....mannnn!....am I dreaming :) Bill

...I thought I'd start an impromptu poll. What are the three vegetations you'd most like E-on to make for Vue. Please be specific. For me it's 1. Climbing Ivy 2. Hedges 3. Redwoods
I'd rather stay in my lane than lay in my stain!
