Yes, I know my examples were shallow and stereotypical, but that was on purpose. Let's say I hate fetish kind of graphics (which I do)...can I overcome my dislike of the subject matter in order to evaluate a graphic on the basis of lighting, posing, overall presentation, color, etc.? Someone trained in constructive criticism theoretically can. Someone who has a personal agenda for or against the subject matter can't. So people who love lthat kind of graphic will say, "it's wonderful, it's great, never saw such a fantastic image." And people who don't, will say, "it's awful, it's unoriginal, it's pathetic." The point being, I think we do have people here who do reach past their personal biases for fantasy, sci fi, pinups, etc. in order to give useful feedback, but I honestly think we have many more that (like me) can't get beyond the subject matter. I wouldn't be a critic for that reason. I wouldn't put up my artwork for criticism for that reason. But that's just me and I know most people will disagree.
