For me it was Battle of the Planets in 1979 (Highly edited version of Science Ninja team Gatchaman 1972 ). That lead me to the road of financial ruin that is anime fandom... and what saves me from Poser related financial Ruin. Gigantor, Originally Tetsujin (Ironman) 28 GO, was one of the earliest anime series, and the first Giant robot anime.
