I run an AMD T-Bird 1.4 GHz with 256 DDR running through a 3-year old 32 MB Diamond Stealth S540 video card. I also use a RAM optimizing utility that seems to be helping immensly with my Bryce work. RAM I believe helps you with working in large scene files, but I don't think it much helps in rendering, I think that's more processor than anything. I've brought this up before, you may wanna do a quick search on it. Also check out the link above for a thread of mine from a short time ago. Pay close attention to response #7 by Stephen Ray.
