I don't know how much you need to scale the hands, but I haven't seen any problems with V1 - V2 hands scaled moderate amounts. Hi-Fashion Vickie's hands and fingers, for example, are scaled 90% overall, then scaled back up 110-115% in X, the idea was to produce a more slender hand. However, I wouldn't try anything other than equal amounts of overall scaling, with reasonable differences in X scaling. I wouldn't try to scale Y or Z at all.
