well, just to follow up, here's the link to the Renderman that I was thinking of. I don't think its at all what you are looking for. From what I can tell, the Carrara 2 renderer is pretty kewl (I have C 1.1). Cinema and EIU have the fastest renderers around and Cinema has some Poser capability (EIU does not).
