Beautiful composition!! But the shot is really underexposed.. In this case, U should use the auto-contrast feature of PS.. if U want to save your photo ;)

I had the light filtering settled up so badly, true.. many pics are underexposed...that's why I can't post them in the gallery ;) in the 2D Forum, syndroid higlithed barbara for me ;)argh!! No, I don't wanna use PS ;) I will select the pics with the better light then :) Akinom will miss some views this way... hope she will forgive me ;)

okay okay.. maybe HERE, and only after having posted ALSO the origial bad version.. I might bend to your will (just because it's you) and use PS ;) but never imagine i will agree to do that for the gallery ;) No way you will trn me at that. I have to learn how to take a decent pic with no mistakes... and i have to learn to THINK well and patiently before shooting :) This is.. something i need to tame my wild sides you know ;) Hugs you lovely creature :)you know that all decent pics I take.. are inspired by the ones you gift us with :)

A lovely view....... I still don't understand your refusal to use Photoshop to make your images better. :~/ However that debate is old now. Yes I agree the exposure here is bad, and could be easily fixed in PS....

I am, therefore I create.......

Okay .. won't state the obvious (underexposure), but want to say ... wow ... can you look anywhere in Rome and not see beautiful and incredible sculpture and architecture? And the statues are so huge. As for not using PS, I can understand it. I too am in search of the "perfect shot". Where exposure and composition on the film's frame is perfect. My biggest problem right now isn't exposure, it's cropping in frame. I can't seem to figure out how much my camera's viewfinder is or isn't showing me. So, most of the time I have to crop the image in PS. One question though. Do you at least use PS or some editing program to color correct and slighly sharpen your scanned images? -=>Donald

Is you hate PS or do you hate photo correction - manipulation programs? What type of camera are you using. If you are using a digital perhaps you can correct this sort of problem using your camera. If it is film you may consider doing something different. Perhaps you camera thinks that the light was too much and it wasen't perhaps you can try a longer exposure. ( Not a lot just a little. ) Just some ideas. Bsteph

Hi everyone and thank you for this feedback :) DHolmen has perfectly penned my feelings about PShop correction. My idea is more.. try to reach the best with the basic you have: because those who really handle the medium well, doesn't need PShop, they can reach what they want without it. I long for the technique, basically. Like when I handdraw things, or when I paint oil on canvas. The greatest painters (well, I never even reach them but that's an idea) obtained perfectly structured, and realistic (like pictures) paints with no use of filters nor photoshop. That's why I treasure them like I do. They obtain the maximum from the medium, without.. "helps" other than their ability, eye, imagination. To bsteph, I don't like photo manipulation actually. Technically, what ratto and Michelle suggested me is acceptable in my book cos is something you can do also developing in a dark room your pics, so I COULD do that, as it's not image cheating, like filtering in unprobable ways images, that lose their "pic" characteristic that way. But before (I was writing this to ratto just now) allowin me to do that, I think I can and have to think better of my pics, because the mistakes I have done here are gross and lame, and if i would have only thought better of what I was doing, it wouldn't have happened. This is my point. Do when you do what's possible to do.. like you weren't possessing PS. Because sometimes a mistake uncorrected teach you more than showing an image that no one can guess the morphing (or altered contrast) about. Mistakes are a way to learn. and thank you all for keepin an eye on my troubles ;) David dear.. thank you also for the precious word :) Believe, I will ask more to you :)
