All right, looks like berlyd gave the right answer to the original question as for the html ... we'd rather you didn't use HTML in the forums or gallery comments as it screws up the system. This thing has enough strain on it already I think ... The change to white background was relatively recent so many users, myself included, fled back to the black background where we are more comfortable. Also as a couple of people kindly commented already, we are kind of serious about the no personal attacks here.
