I love these questions: "I have a 50G hard drive and 2G of RAM and an AMD X5667 2G processor. It's a high-end system. What's wrong? And, by the way, I'm using Windows 98. So, tell me, why can't I render with high res maps and models on my computer that has a 8 year old operating system?" Geez, I thought we had been through this issue already. Upgrade to Windows 2000 or XP. Listen up people- Windows 98 and Poser do not like each other. Every time you render, Windows 98 does NOT release memory back. So, after a few renders, Poser locks up. Just upgrade. NOW. Spend the $99 to get Windows 2000 and be done with it. No more lock up, no more freezes, no more "which RAM booster should I jury-rig to temporarily make Windows 98 work". Don't spend your money on the latest DAZ goody, instead use the money to upgrade your operating system. And Sprinter, you need to turn on "Show File Extentions" (in Explorer, go to Tools, then Folder Options, then View tab). You are just asking for a virus to hit: sometime soon, you'll get a file that looks like "Vickytexture.jpg.vbs". Because the "vbs" file is hidden on your system, you'll double-click the file (thinking it's a jpg) and run the script.
