i used the same texture maps on different parts of the body. The hip and shoulder were modelled in dream3d and replaced body parts. how come the texture map i used reproduced in different sizes? is there a rule of thumb for a texture map's size and the size of the object it is being mapped on? There's a rendering of the norman knight at my gallery and I had the same problems. Can any one suggest what I should do to improve the texture?

Cause the UVmappping is different! Ex.: Shoulders could have grid of 300x300, Hips 500x500, etc.. So you'll have to either scale & apply a different texture for each part. Or redo one Texture for the whole thing(In 3dpaint). Marc

Viomar is correct, but it is not the size of the map, it is the percentage of the UV map that is covered by the different figures. Generate templates for the models in UVMapper and take a look at the relative percentage of the horizontal size each of the models covers. If the shirt model has the arms outstretched, the chest probably only covers one-third of the horizontal width of the template. The skirt, on the other hand, probably covers the entire horizontal width of its UV template. If mapped from the same image, the skirt would then have three times as many chain links mapped across it than would the chest area of the shirt. Soulution would be to remap the skirt to cover the same percentage of the UV template as does the chest area of the shirt.
