I was asking because when I was stationed in Germany and had the honor of training with units from other contries some of them were allowed some facial hair. Actually a well groomed beard, such as his, should seal just fine in a gas mask. The gas mask was really the only excuse the US gave for not allowing us to wear hair, even though we all knew it would seal anyway ;p
