momodot; jpg compressoin depends on the image. Also jpg has lots of compression modes. 1:2 1:4 and so on. I just picked up a 3.3 megapixle (2048 x 1536 pixel) camera and it will give me great images in jpg format from 400k - 1.6M or so in size. http://www.olympusamerica.com/product.asp?c=78&s=12&p=16&product=521 I have a 16 meg card in the camera and it will hold 20 images that are of great quality for 8X10 prints.
