Looking at the original thread, most of the posters are against the change. I don't see much value in it either. There are a number of ways around the change that won't stop pirates. The more effective means of stopping copyright theft are notifying the ISP and rebiller (if on a paysite) of the theft. For somebody who wants to claim the image as their own, it won't take long for anyone else to verify that this individual never created that image and lacks the requisite skills to do anything good on their own.
