I found a sort of cure for this when running Vue 4 under Win 98SE. No guarantee that it will work on your config though.

Firstly, are all other OpenGL programs (not games) OK on the box?

If yes, then leave the drivers as they are and uninstall Vue completely. Use the Add/ Remove Programs option in the Control Panel. Cold reboot. Go to Windows Explorer and manually delete any E-On Software directories still in Program Files directory. Check for and delete any Vue entries still in the Registry. Use either a utility you trust or hand search and delete using Regedit (Start, Run, regedit, OK) NB this latter option is for those who are confident in what they're doing and have good backups. Cold reboot. Reinstall Vue and, if it loads, disable all the OpenGl options (File, Options, uncheck OpenGL). Close Vue and restart it for the changes to take effect. Add Vue upgrades and test each time.

If no and the box is unstable in general use check the BIOS. Look for a setting something like "Enable AGP 4X" and disable it. Restart and see if the box becomes stable and / or Vue works OK.

If no and the box is generally stable them reinstall Windows 98 and use the drivers supplied with your card.

Sorry but I've spent close to 6 months wrestling with this and have come to two conclusions: 1. some mobo's don't operate well with some graphics adaptors and 2. Eon need to address the OpenGL problems in Vue. You can't do much about either except maybe wait 6 months for Radeon prices to drop.

Cheers,
Mark
