Files aren't erased on a hard drive when they are trashed. Windows just replaces the first letter of the name with a space. Big files have several pieces. These stay on the hard drive but are treated as empty space. If you save anything it can go in these spaces or others on the drive. If you get norton run unerase from the CD without installing the program. You could install Norton and wipe out the file you are trying to rescue. P.S. The trick is to forget in bigger chunks. If you forgot you even had the file at the same time you threw it away you wouldn't be worried about missing it now. I do it all the time and it works for me:)
