Although I agree with you somewhat, there are no guidlines as to why you can vote for an image. I myself vote for images that strike me as stunning, but others might vote for images that strike an emotion or have some sort of message which they agree with politically or for what ever reason. I don't necessarilly agree with DC's image either, but if I felt strongly about it, I might vote for it myself.
