ERC is actually a way to exploit the code that does FBMs, which is what you're probably seeing. The display names aren't important; that's just what Poser shows you. It's the channel name that needs to match so cross-talk (in P4 and Pro Pack. Poser 5 works differently with ERC). Also, in the block of ERC code in each channel, change the figure line to "Figure 1", and then it'll purposely cross-talk to the first figure loaded into the scene.
