I can't even tell where the spear is supposed to be in the scene? If you're using firefly check to see if you have the "remove back face geometry" switch on. It could be your spear has inverted normals but in that case the spear would show inside out, not gone. It kind of looks like that spear is in that pile of brown stuff in his right arm. Would be nice if you pointed an arrow where the inset came from.
