THE PLACE FOR ALL THINGS BRYCE - GOT A PROBLEM? YOU'VE COME TO THE RIGHT PLACE

Subject: Can anyone tell me how ---------------

kiwi_gg ( ) posted Wed, 20 August 2003 at 11:24 PM · edited Mon, 25 November 2024 at 2:50 PM

I am new to bryce (3months)and to renderosity.I have downloaded an M1 tank model, the tracks are assembled as heaps of individual parts is there any way to select all these parts at one time so I can change the materials???? Deselect all/Ungroup only allows me to select the separate parts.

Cheers
G.G.

Isn't that waht you want? You may have to set the same material to several different parts.

I was hoping to be able to reduce the time spent by doing all the separate parts in one hit rather than as individuals Cheers GG

you can drag the cursor over all the objects you want or hold down shift (for PC users) and select multiple objects (this option will select anything behind or touching the object you selected). Hope this answers your question or maybe i missed your whole point

Once you get one piece with mats and textures you like in the materials editor, look just under the preview window. You will find the words copy and paste there. Click on copy. Pull in the other objects you want to have the same mat, one at a time or grouped and click on paste. HTH Tres

CTRL+Shift+click on particular parts will allow you to select them all, one after another. Or the same combination on the list Roch posted.

Once you select them then set them to a family color. that way if you change your mind or want to tweak the texture all you have to do is select that family instead of reselecting everything again.

Also, holding just control down when you select objects will bring up a list of the objects under the cursor, from nearest to farthest. Might come in handy...

just awesome!!!!.I'm really having a great time with bryce and I'm hoping that when I get reasonably proficient at using the program it will be of use with my other art interest which is acrylic paints on canvas.
However after reading some of the posts yesterday re corel and bryce I'm wondering whether I would be better at this stage to learn a different program.
If I can figure out how to send pics you might get to see some of the things I have done.
Cheers

Where you post replies, under the message window, it has some boxes...look for the one marked Attach File. There is a browse button to find it on your computer and upload it here! It has to be 800x600 or smaller and less than 200k file size. Show us some cool stuff! Tres

Aye, tresamie, there is no resolution size limit in the forums, only a 200k limit. (nods)
