Yeh I used to create a similair background sky to that of the pic Iwanted to use. Then I rendered the scene in Bryce, opened up Photoshop and dragged the Sky image on to the render as a layer. From there I would magnetic lasso any objects that show above the horizon and erase the sky image layer. After that I would tweak opacity and other adjustments to blend together to get the result I was happy with. What a dozy Bollock I am sometimes!
