Hi, maybe, it got applied "mirrored"? How does it look like, when zooming to that intended graving? Did you already increase the gridsize (e.g. to 512 or 1024. Beware this also enlarges BR-filesize by megabytes and slows down editing)? Did you try the Filtering, to get sharper edges for the engraving, otherwise, it might rather look like an eroded valley?
