I use the UI dots constantly..have them set up for different screen render sizes/ratios. I use the camera dots too, but usually only in one session because I can never remember what they are. And, I agree, it's VERY annoying that it goes back to the Pose dots when you really want the UI dots. Many's the time I've click a pose instead. However the Pose dots are undo-able! If you apply one accidentally to a character, CTRL-z will fix it.
