Ahhh, eb...I feel your pain as this was...I hope it's in the past tense now ;-)...happening too often to me! One thing that has helped me (and you may already be doing this, but just wanted to share this) is a suggestion by MightPete NOT to save over old files, rather save them sequentially i.e. forest scene1, forest scene2 AND use a name of some sort don't just number your saves, i.e. 1,2,3.
