Hi Everyone
We thought it was time you got some feedback from the company regarding the MetaForm Product.
First off, thank you to Brian for your continual support and for showcasing some of Metaforms abilities.
My name is Cheryl and I deal with all the non technical aspects of the company, including general correspondence. We hope to be able to provide some more specific information regarding the final feature list, release date, price and purchase information of MetaForm in the very near future but in the meantime we would like to answer some of the questions which have been asked on the Forum.
Our designer has given the following answer to your technical queries:
The product will be packaged with a Users' Manual, including tutorials and examples to get started. Additional tutorials and materials will also be packaged and available as online resources addressing more specific effects and techniques.
The philosophy has been to create an open-ended product which will allow users to find new ways of achieving specific effects and new things to do with the product. We expect people will have a lot of fun experimenting with the possibilities.
Most of the functionality is available through simple button clicks, and standard Poser interfaces such as prop manipulation, parameter dials and timeline editing. We have avoided re-inventing the wheel wherever possible.
Explosion effects will certainly be achievable using the same techniques as the fire simulation demonstrated by Brian.
The product will be available for Poser 4 ProPack and Poser 5 users. Much of the built in material functionality uses advanced texture mapping which can be used by both Poser versions, but Poser 5 shaders can also be applied and it is expected that P5's volumetric materials and MetaForm's multi-layer surfaces and advanced UV mapping techniques will provide a powerful combination.
On a more personal note, I recently tested the Metaform product. Having never used Poser or any other modelling products in the past, I was pleasantly surprised to find that I could use and manipulate the Product to model a simple object with great ease. The only time I had to ask for help was when I was trying to navigate the poser tools. Therefore, I would definately say that the product is very user friendly - even for a beginner like me.
I will be following the Forum threads and will answer as many of your queries as I can however I will have to pass more technical queries over to the technical team. In the meantime though I will ask for your continued patience as we are currently working on the final functionality of the product.
Thanks
Cheryl
