So long as you have the Handicaps in mind, it sounds really cool and have been waiting to see what would ever become of this forum.
The problem I can foresee is if we are finding difficulties with competing against fellow regular forum users, like the one's mention and the best of all Rhinoceros, due to time constraints, how on earth will we find time to compete in a different forum?
POSSIBLE SOLUTION: Renderosity Magazine comes out what, every three or four months? How about taking each category winner's from each of the modeling forums, and put them up here before the press date of Renderosity Magazine, then have a Members Only vote for the winner? Then when the magazine is printed, a write up of each of the winners of the Modeling Forum categories are given honorable mentions along with pictures of their models in Renderosity Magazine!
For instance, Rhino has three categories, and a new challenge (competition) every month. If the other modeling forums are the same, then we would be able to take, over the course of say three months, submit nine challenger's from the Rhino Forum alone. So, the numbers of participants grows expotentially with each modeling forum on Renderosity.
The numbers of modeling forums on Renderosity escapes me off the top of my head, but lets say we have four: This would give us 36 potentially different modelers to compete for a new grand prize; Honorable Mention and Hard Copy Reproduction of three artists works.
How many subscribed users of Renderosity do not subscribe for the printed edition of the Magazine? With this idea, there would be a potential of getting 36 users to become subscribers to Renderosity Magazine. People who win the Quarterly Modelers competition who are not subscribed to the Magazine would gleefully purchase the edition they were mentioned in. Those that already subscribe might be inclined to purchase another copy for their Grandparents who live so far away...
