Not a problem mit - It is easy for statements to get crossed-posted, or just misunderstood - the down side of "finger-talking" you can't see facial expressions nor hear word inflections.
Let me try to answer your questions:
Q #1 - However, the majority of posts in any forum is here, the majority of pictures in the Gallery have Poser used in them and the majority of goods in the market place are for Poser customers
A #1 - You are very correct in your assessment. Poser is a huge influence on the Renderosity Community. The majority of images, threads, and Market Place items are Poser driven.
To the extent that other members in other forums also use Poser (even though some would swear to being software purest, when they wish to post a person or animal in an image they usually [but not always] import a Poser figure). Because of that reasoning it is important to the Renderosity Community to post information [as the post that was moved] to the Forum News and Team Contact Forum [FNTC Forum], as not all members view the Poser Forum.
Also, as I stated in an earlier posting a thread posted to the Poser Forum can be buried within minutes and lost within days, due to the high amount of postings in the Poser Forum. Thus, the paradox Although the FNTC Forum does not get as many Threads posted daily, it does get the majority of Posts per Thread.
View this thread if you are in doubt of my statement - 368 posts. And that's just one example. If you look through the FNTC Forum Archives you will find even more examples.
Also, if you scroll through the names of the members, who posted to the above mentioned thread, you will recognize many of your fellow Poser members thus, it is only logical: If you post to the FNTC Forum your message will be seen by the masses and responded to.
Also, although Poser products do make-up the majority of the MP items, matters concerning the MP affect all members of the community, not just Poser Forum members. In fact, there are many occasional Poser users who seldom frequent the Poser Forum thus by moving the thread to the FNTC Forum, the thread is not being buried, but instead is being highlighted.
Q #2 - None of those posts got swept away OT, I wonder why that is?{{{in reference to other post ie virus warnings, etc. not being moved right away}}
A. #2 - Please keep in mind the moderators are Not full time Renderosity employees. We all have regular [offline] 40 plus hour jobs, families to care for [and I have heard rumors that some mods even have a social life away from the computer]. As much as we would like to catch All the posts that do not pertain directly to a Poser software problem or question to be honest, we are only human and cannot catch them all at the moment that they are posted. Same for the Gallery Images that might violate TOS, same for the removing comments from images that might violate TOS, etc.
That is one reason we depend on the Renderosity Community to bring these items to our attention Sending off a quick IM to any of the moderators is the best way to get either an answer to a question, or to let us know that a thread might need to be moved, or a image or comment is in violation of TOS. We are not asking members to do our job, but instead asking members to help us do our job.
And what exactly is our job and why do we do it? We are here to help make your time on Renderosity a pleasant one. We help answer questions, and make sure the Rosity Community is a place where members can feel safe and comfortable within the community.
Why do we do this, because we love Renderosity and its members! We are all artists, just like you, and it is our way of thanking Renderosity for being so generous with its Free Gallery Space, Free Tutorial Space, Free Learning Forums by giving freely of every moment of our spare time to help the Rosity community, it is our way of thanking Renderosity.
