I've noticed a trend of bitchiness lately. I am left to wonder why. M3 makes his debut, and in my opinion is a giant step up from previous Mikes. Yes, I too feel he looks a bit feminine is stock form, but that is what morphs and magnets are for. Perhaps everyone is getting lazy. I spent nearly $100 on M3. I don't expect absolute perfection, I just expect him to function. Does no one remember V1, M1, Steph? These characters could do very little "out of the box". Everyone seems to want modular, something they can buy add-ons for what they need, but complain when they have to purchase the add-ons? Fact of the matter is, V3 and M3 are highly detailed meshes, they offer the ability to remove morphs to save resources. The complete packages are more expensive than previous versions because they are better models, and more versatile! V2 and M2 were basically a package of morphs for V1 and M1, right? I don't remember too many complaints then. If you are unhappy with M3, by all means stop whining and send him back! If you think he can't be made to look masculine, that only means you are so incompetent that you can't turn a couple of dials. And if it is the money spent that is steaming you, make your own mesh! Or, here's a better idea, get off your lazy ass, get dressed for work, and on the ride over practice "Would you like fries with that?", someday a management position will open. The little issues I am happy to be made aware of, but these posts that do nothing but complain are just annoying.

Anyone that spends there money, has a right to bitch if they are unhappy... also you making a post bitching about people bitching, makes you as guilty as everyone else

There will always be people complaining, iamonk. Sometimes it's valid and sometimes not. I think forums just make it really easy to do both kinds without any fear of major consequence. Just about any big new release I've ever seen in any kind of category has the same kind of reponse on forums. I guess I'm jaded, I just expect it and try to not get caught up in it. It all calms down eventually.

This used to be a place where one could get help, now it is a forum for complaints.

I'm not trolling, just pointing out how silly some of these posts are. Complaints are fine, but lately they have been based on opinion instead of an actual problem.

Furthermore, I feel I am superior to NO ONE just because my wallet can absorb a $100 hit. I can easily justify the cost
since I do not have the time to create my own mesh, I work. Bashing a decent product just because it doesn't meet your idea of perfection is childish.

I try to get along, I try not to jump in on too many controversies ... and when I am able, I try to find solutions. To follow the example of another quiet note of protest, I have a plea. All of us, myself included, have to keep in mind that every one of us here is a person with individual feelings and opinions. We are all here to share a common interest, and the constant bickering, finger pointing, fighting, complaining, and so on, is doing nothing but driving people apart further and further. It really should stop ... and get back to the original purpose of this forum. To learn, and to share. If we can't learn to get along with people that SHARE our interests, how on earth will we ever learn to get along with people that don't? Please? 8-(

...then yes, I would have no reason to complain, I would keep my mouth shut. I make purchases AFTER researching the product. Many rely on this forum for help, some would shy away from a purchase if there are complaints about it. Would you like potential customers turned away from a product you were marketing. Sometimes I think people just like to pick at any possible flaw.

I think Deecay has managed to express the point I am trying to get at. This is a place where people come seeking and offering help. Criticism is good only as long as it is helpful, lately the critics have been childish.

iamonk, I've learned (especially here) that you have to pick and choose your battles very carefully. An innocent observation can be attacked as viciously as the Marines attacking Sadam. For every opinion there is at least one person out there who will be thrown into violent fits of anger. Is Renderosity getting meaner? It seems that way. It seems that the majority of posts always seem to have at least one nasty comment in the thread. To get things back on track, I think it will take people constantly being reminded to have fun, ask questions, make comments and not take things so seriously. (I have to remind myself of that quite often too)

Personally I don't care for some of the negative stuff either, but oddly enough, I find myself reading them!! Why is that I wonder? I could simply close the window and move on to another thread......but again....I think it's because we've all had way too much exposure to "strutting males" who think it's a big accomplishment to cream a "small country" with "no nukes" :) But that's just my opinion. I also like pdx's moxie (hehehehe ... I got a chuckle from that). And share his sentiment on the loss of two talents today. John Ritter's death is a real shock! I think what I was trying to say behind my earlier post, is that there IS a way to voice opinion without belittling someone's character or hard work. Remember: The folks that created the software and models that you know and love worked VERY hard on them. Show them the same respect that you would want if you spent hours, weeks, months, or even years, toiling over something. If you're not happy, you have the right to say so ... but please try to say it with respect to the feelings of others. Also, not everyone has a great job, especially in today's economy. To imply that someone is inferior because they work at a fast food place is harsh ... real harsh ... in these times. A LOT of us (myself included) are barely scraping by right now. Have a heart. I might be perpetuating the argument by saying this ... but we really need to laugh, and enjoy life.

Am SO shocked about John Ritter.... had just seen him in an Entertainment Tonight show... If you buy something and it doesn't work as advertised, by all means, send off a polite complaint through the Proper Channels & try to get it resolved. You can even very nicely warn people that something doesn't work as it should, but that you're already working on getting a satisfactory solution. Bitching that M3 looks like a girl does absolutely no good. Daz does indeed have preview renders. He has a ton of morphs. Use 'em. ;)

Sorry, but you can't use "sissy" as an insult (even to yourself) and get away with it without comment. The word comes from "sister", and implying that being female or feminine is somehow too horrible for straight-talk (and thus we must use a euphemism) is pretty damned insulting to those of us who ARE female.
