The interface, in case you have not tried it, is completely configurable. You can move or hide everything in the Poser window. These settings can then be saved in one of the 9 UI Memory Dots (like the Cameras and Poses). I have one saved with everything shrunk down so that the whole Poser window fits on two-thirds of my screen, leaving one third for the very purpose you mentioned.
